Review by hotel critic

Nestled in the heart of Paraty, the tranquil environment is complemented by a lovely outdoor pool that offers serene views of the sea. I relished the chance to unwind in the garden hammock, soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. The cozy room had a balcony that provided a perfect spot to sip coffee while enjoying the gentle breeze. The multilingual staff were always available, ensuring I felt well taken care of. Breakfast was satisfying, featuring fresh fruit and local delicacies. If you're seeking a restorative getaway in an art-filled haven, this pousada could be just what you're looking for. An inviting experience for those wanting to recharge in a cultural setting.

Room Options at Pousada Arte Urquijo Paraty

The hotel offers a variety of charming rooms with unique and cozy features. The rooms are located on the second floor and accessible via narrow stairs, with reduced space and low sloping roofs that may not suit those looking for traditional large spaces. Amenities in the rooms include comfortable box beds with 300 thread count bedding, goose feather pillows, split air conditioning, ceiling fans, LCD TVs with Sky, bathrobes, hairdryers, free Wi-Fi, and mini bars. Some rooms also boast balconies with sea views and hammocks, while others feature wooden floors, refined décor, and the opportunity to experience the essence of old colonial mansions with current comfort. Access to certain rooms may require ascending a small staircase due to the structure's preservation of the original 18th-century house.
